1. Who We Are

Fluengo AI is operated by Usman Javed ("we", "us", "our"), a sole proprietor trading as Fluengo AI. We act as the data controller for personal data processed through the Service. You can reach us at privacy@fluengoai.com.

2. Data We Collect & Why

  • Account data (name, email, hashed password, authentication tokens) — to create and secure your account. Legal basis: performance of contract.
  • Learning content (chat messages, voice inputs, goals, progress) — to provide AI tutoring, feedback, and progress tracking. Legal basis: performance of contract.
  • Usage & device data (IP address, browser, device identifiers, pages visited, events) — to operate the Service, prevent fraud, and improve features. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • Support communications (messages you send us) — to respond to enquiries. Legal basis: legitimate interests / contract.
  • Marketing preferences (where applicable) — to send product updates you opt into. Legal basis: consent.
  • Billing-adjacent data — purchase and subscription status returned to us by our payment provider. Payment card details are collected and processed by Paddle, not by us.

3. Who We Share Data With

  • Hosting & infrastructure providers (e.g. Supabase, Cloudflare) that store data and serve the Service on our behalf.
  • AI model providers (e.g. OpenAI, Google) that process your inputs to generate tutoring responses, under data processing terms.
  • Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for sale of the Service, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, invoicing, and fraud prevention. See Paddle's privacy notice.
  • Analytics & error-monitoring tools that help us understand usage and fix bugs.
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where reasonably necessary.
  • Authorities where required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. International Transfers

Some of our service providers are located outside your country, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred from the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions issued by the relevant authorities.

5. Security & Retention

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular reviews. No system is 100% secure, but we work to keep risks low. We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described above, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data; to object to processing; and to withdraw consent. Users in the UK/EEA have rights under the UK GDPR / GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority. To exercise any right, email privacy@fluengoai.com. We aim to respond within one month.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies required to operate the Service (e.g. authentication, security). We may also use limited analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies will affect functionality.

8. Changes & Contact

We may update this notice from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email. Questions or requests? Email privacy@fluengoai.com.
